The Winter Solstice

presented by William Taylor

7:00 PM Thursday, November 10, 2016
John Jermain Memorial Library
201 Main St, Sag Harbor, N

What’s making the days shorter and the nights longer? What’s the astronomical reason for the coolness in the air? We’ll explore the science of the sun and the sky, as well as the winter festivals that ancient and modern people have created to bring light to the darkest time of the year.

William Taylor is a local tutor and a life-long East End resident. Since 2014, he has been NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador, giving talks about the universe around us, as well as sharing telescopes and stars with the public.

Reservations not required but seating is very limited.
