The Equinox: Highlights of the Fall Sky

presented by William Francis Taylor, NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador

7:00 PM Friday, September 20, 2019
South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center
377 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton, NY 11932

What makes the days shorter and the nights longer? What's the astronomical reason for the coolness in the air? We will explore the science of the sun and seasons, and also discuss the constellations, planets and other celestial objects that are visible in the fall sky, which we'll view (weather-permitting) through telescopes after the talk.

Montauk Observatory Astronomer, William Francis Taylor, has been a NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador, since 2014, lecturing about the universe around us and sharing his love of the heavens by giving guided tours of the sky through telescopes. He is a local tutor and a life-long East End resident.

COST: This event is FREE.

REGISTRATION: Contact SoFo at 631-537-9735
