Though famously indifferent to fame, Albert Einstein was someone we would today call a "rock star." His Theory of Relativity is one of the greatest triumphs of a single human mind. Transforming gravitation into geometry, it challenged our egocentric view of the Universe and created an exciting new form of astronomy. Please join us for Dr. Stephen Rosen's insightful discussion about Einstein, an iconic genius. Stephen Rosen, Ph.D., is a physicist whose specialty is the field of cosmic radiation and who learned about relativity from Prof. Banesh Hoffman, a colleague and collaborator of Einstein. Dr. Rosen worked at Los Alamos and a prominent think tank on issues of national defense and science policy. His publications have appeared in scientific journals and the national media. His best-selling book, "Future Facts." is listed in the top 100 important books of the 20th century. He is dedicated to helping scientists, attorneys, academics and other professionals with their careers, and does that through his work as Chairman of Celia Paul Associates, and as Founder and Director of Scientific Career Transitions. Montauk Observatory is grateful to the East Hampton Middle School and to the East Hampton High School Environmental Awareness Club for co-sponsoring this event. Our thank, too, to Dr. Rosen for generously volunteering his time as a speaker.
